Topic Study of polymers and hybrid materiálů for photonic applications
Supervisor Věra Cimrová, PhD
Department Polymers for Electronics and Photonics
Description The subject of PhD study will be research of advanced conjugated polymers and hybrid systems for potential applications in photonics, particularly in photovoltaic devices (solar cells) and light-emitting devices (LEDs), further also memories, optical storage, sensors etc. PhD study will deal with research of selected advanced polymers and hybrid systems, particularly in thin films using whole series of spectral - optical, electrical, photoelectrical - methods (absorption, photoluminescence, electroluminescence, photoconductivity, etc.). The results will be utilized in the preparation and characterization of selected polymer and hybrid devices (solar cells, LED, sensors etc.). The work will be mainly experimental. A theoretical knowledge can be also utilized, in particular for the interpretation and modelling of experimental data. The research topic has attracted a lot of attention world-wide just due to the potential interesting applications. In the hybrid systems, not only the desired properties of materials for photonic devices can be further improved, but also new interesting properties or phenomena can be found.
