Department Supramolecular Polymer Systems
Description The subject of the dissertation will be the development of supramolecular systems (micelles/nanoparticles/polymersomes) composed of amphiphilic copolymers for actively targeted drug delivery. The hydrophilic parts of the polymer molecules will be functionalized with groups influencing surface charge of the nanoparticles and with functional groups actively targeting the tumor tissue, possibly even cellular compartments. The hydrophobic core of the nanoparticles will contain drug. Appropriate combinations of targeting units and therapeutics will be put together using a molecular toolbox system. The work within the dissertation thesis will consist of synthesis, physico-chemical characterization and in vitro biological testing of the prepared systems, which will then be transferred to a cooperating biological workplace for in vivo testing on animal models.
