Description |
The proposed research aims to continue the original concept of bottom-up formation of unique tubular fibrils based on the self-assembly of natural polymer precursors. The research will be focused on improving mechanical performance, enlarging the range of dimensions, chemical composition and functionality. The important issue is the in-situ incorporation of functional nanoparticles, metal-organic frameworks, and highlighting of loading capacity and release kinetics of functional compounds. On this base, hierarchical multifunctional high-performance systems for tissue engineering will be prepared especially using. additive manufacturing in combination with in-situ photopolymerization-formation of polymer binder. Thorough testing of these materials, including the potential for medical applications, is planned as well. |
