Topic Conducting inks based on colloidal composites
Supervisor Patrycja Magdalena Bober, PhD
Department Conducting Polymers
Description Colloidal systems based on conducting polymers (polypyrrole, poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene), etc.) for the fabrication of semiconducting layers using various printing and additive manufacturing technologies will be synthesized and characterized in terms of their morphology, homogeneity, stability, chemical structure and conductivity. The properties (viscosity, surface tension, etc.) of investigated colloidal systems (prepared under various polymerization conditions: temperatures, solvents, steric stabilizers, concentrations of stabilizer, the presence of surfactants or additives) will be improved and optimized with respect to their processability by printing techniques. Introduction of the second component, such as noble metals, transition metal dichalcogenide or metal-organic framework, will further improve the properties of colloidal composites. Printed polymer-based functional layers will be mainly investigated as physical and chemical sensors, flexible electronics, sensors, and biomedical devices.
