This presentation summarizes recent research findings from our laboratory on the dielectric characterization of polymer-based materials among others using impedance spectroscopy. Over the past few years, we have leveraged the versatility and power of this technique for understanding complex electrical behaviors in functional polymers and composites. The impedance spectroscopy approach provides comprehensive insights into dielectric properties beyond simple conductivity measurements. We have successfully applied this methodology to characterize materials designed for various application areas: flexible electronics, sensing devices, and scaffolds for tissue regeneration. Each application presented unique challenges in terms of material requirements and measurement conditions. The results from our published work demonstrate how impedance spectroscopy can reveal critical structure-property relationships, guide material optimization strategies, and provide predictive insights for device performance. This presentation will highlight key findings from our recent publications and discuss future directions for dielectric characterization in polymer science.
