Project of mobility „C-RGD“: From carbon based nanoparticles to 3D composite scaffolds

Ing. Eliška Mázl Chánová, Ph.D.
Mimořádná přednáška
14.1.2020 10:00, Klub B

Eliška spent nearly 18 month at Institute for Science and Technology in Medicine, Keele University in Great Britain conducting her Project of Mobility funded by Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. The project was focused on realization of MSCA-IF 2016 project „C-RGD“ evaluated by EU within Horizon 2020. Investigation of interdisciplinary project „C-RGD“ was focused on smart surface chemistry and material approach to mitigate cytotoxicity of carbon nanotubes (CNT) and to trigger specific cellular activity simultaneously. The performance of modified CNT (for example, with cell adhesive peptide RGD) within the interaction with living tissue was accomplished (i) in cell suspension culture, (ii) on the composite coatings, and (iii) in polymer composite 3D structures. The effect of surface modification of CNTs on the bone formation was used for assessment of CNTs´ toxicity and biological performance. Besides the results obtained within the Project of Mobility, Eliska will share her observations about the life and habits at a foreign university and her experience from daily life. Acknowledgements: The financial support from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic within the Project of International Mobility of Researches – MSCA-IF (CZ.02.2.69/0.0/0.0/17_050/0008473) under the OP Research, Development, and Education is acknowledged.
