PhD projects – Call for Applications 2024/2025

We are looking for new PhD students who are interested in advanced material and biomedical research, deepening their knowledge of macromolecular science, and transcending its boundaries. PhD projects at IMC are suitable for graduates of chemical and mathematical-physical faculties, but also faculties of science, technology and others. PhD studies at the IMC are organized according to the focus of the topic in cooperation with universities.

PARTNER UNIVERSITIES

Although the IMC does not offer PhD degrees, it is possible to develop a PhD research project directly in our laboratories and research centers in cooperation with selected universities. We currently have joint accreditation with the following faculties:

  • FCHT, FCHI a FPBT – University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague
  • PřF a MFF – Charles University

A student admitted to doctoral studies receives a scholarship from the relevant faculty and at the same time automatically becomes a full-time IMC employee. The Institute may also offer accommodation in its own facility to a limited number of students.

PHD RESEARCH PROJECTS

Topics of PhD projects for the academic year 2024/2025 include all areas of current material and macromolecular science, from the synthesis of polymers, to their chemical and physical modification and characterization to advanced applications. However, the specific topic of each PhD project can be modified according to the applicant's interest and in agreement with the supervisor.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

The main condition for admission to study in a PhD program is the successfully completed university, the submission of an application and the successful completion of an admission interview at both the IMC and the selected university. Graduates of not only the faculties of chemistry, mathematics, and physics can apply, but also other faculties of science of technology. Currently, about 50 PhD students are studying at IMC.
