Supramolecular Systems and Selfassociation Processes SUPRAMOL

The scientific centre of SUPRAMOL focuses on the investigation of supramolecular and self-associated polymer systems. The Centre combines capability  in the design and synthesis of polymers exhibiting self-association properties with physico-chemical expertise in self-association processes and know-how in the structural characterization of supramolecular systems.

Studies of supramolecular organization in polymers rank among the key issues in modern polymer science. This forms a knowledge basis for other IMC research programmes, especially for those directed to nanostructured polymer materials on the one hand and biomacromolecular polymer systems for nanomedicine and diagnostics on the other.
Modern ESR instrumentation offers one of the very rare  opportunities (no more than two other instruments are available in this country) for direct studies of paramagnetic compounds, applicable not only in the polymer and biopolymer fields.
The Centre manages an authorized radionuclide laboratory, a unique experimental facility, where
polymers bearing radioactive atoms are produced for biomedical applications.
