TopicNanostructured conducting polymer composites
AnnotationNanostructured conducting polymers, such as polyaniline, polypyrrole or poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene), and their composites with inorganic materials (noble metals,carbon nanotubes, graphite or graphene, etc.) will be prepared in various forms, such as powders, thin films, colloidal dispersions and hydrogels. The influence of various additives (organic dyes, stabilizers, surfactants and acids) in the polymer preparation on the morphology of resulting polymers will be studied.The goal consists in the understanding of the principles underlying the formation of composites, the control of morphology, stability, mechanical properties and especially conductivity, and thus the tuning of the properties of resulting materials for specific applications. The potential uses will concern flexible electronics, sensors, supercapacitors, heterogeneous catalysis and biomedical devices.
