TopicNovel polyurethane systems: Preparation and multidisciplinary characterization
AnnotationThis PhD study will be aimed at the preparation and characterization of novel polyurethane (PU) elastomers, films and coatings. Polycarbonate-based macrodiols will be mostly used; for comparison also ‘classical’ PUs, i.e., polyether- or polyester- based polyurethanes will be prepared. (Other materials for the preparation are: aliphatic or aromatic diisocyanates, and aliphatic chain extenders/crosslinkers). Nanoadditives will be used in selected reaction systems as well. One- or two-step technique will be used in bulk or solvent-containing procedure. Multidisciplinary characterization (involving both ‘classical’ and advanced analytical methods, AFM included) will be used for the study of relations: material choice – technique of preparation – end-use properties.
