of the Department of Controlled Macromolecular Synthesis

Job description:

The Department of Controlled Macromolecular Synthesis is focused mainly on the synthesis of new polymer materials with a defined composition and structure (homopolymers; random, block, grafted and branched copolymers; polymeric brushes) by the methods of free-radical polymerization (in solution, suspension, and emulsion), controlled radical polymerization (ATRP and related methods, RAFT, NMP), anionic polymerization, and polyaddition polymerization. We also conduct post-modifications of both natural and synthetic polymers.

The main candidate focus will be on:

  • research in the field of synthesis and characterization of new polymer materials,
  • management and coordination of the department research team,
  • guidance of employers’ professional development,
  • ensuring compliance with internal regulations, occupational safety principles and the code of ethics.

We are looking for a candidate who has:

  • university education and scientific qualification in the field of macromolecular chemistry or organic chemistry,
  • active and creative approach to solving scientific tasks,
  • scientific activity and publication activity in the field of controlled polymerizations with international recognition,
  • experience in obtaining financial support for research activities
  • capability to think independently and make decisions,
  • ability to work in a team
  • organizational skills and managerial experience,
  • English on the proficient user level, basic Czech, other language skills are an advantage.
