TopicStructure and conformational dynamics of thermoresponsive polypetides and oligopeptides.
AnnotationThe proposed project is based on the study of structure and of conformational dynamics of peptides and polypeptides that form specific blocks of synthetically modified copolymers intended for biomedical applications. Particular attentions will be aimed to the location and characterization of water molecules in spatial proximity of polymer chains. Furthermore, the overall changes of the domain size of both polymer components and morphology of these copolymer systems will be evaluated. To investigate the interaction of hydrophobic and hydrophilic polypeptides with water systematically a series of short model sequences will be used. The oligopeptides will be uniformly labelled by 13C and 15N. The main technique used for the conformational study is high-resolution NMR spectroscopy (1H operation frequency is 600 MHz).
