TopicMicrowave-assisted preparation of polymer materials
AnnotationIn recent years, considerable attention has focused on the microwave accelerated synthesis of polymers. Microwave heating offers a number of advantages; especially fast and selective heating, high product yield, minimize side reactions and energy saving. The aim of this PhD work is to apply the microwave-assisted ring-opening polymerization for the preparation of polyesters and in-situ preparation of polyester nanocomposites. The experimental study will study the effect of microwave radiation on the kinetics and degree of polymerization. In the case of hybrid systems, the effect of the microwave (dielectric) heating on the exfoliation degree of inorganic nanofillers depending on their surface and interfacial modification will be evaluated. The PhD theme is suitable for graduates in Chemistry, especially macromolecular chemistry."
