TopicHybrid materials with improved thermomechanical properties
AnnotationPhD thesis will be focused on a preparation of multicomponent hybrid organic – inorganic crosslinked materials with improved thermal and mechanical properties in comparison with conventional polymer networks. Inorganic nanostructures will be prepared by sequential and simultaneous sol-gel process from alkoxysilanes and built into polymer – organic matrice via covalent bonds or non-bonded interactions on organic-inorganic phase interface. Experimental part of the work will aim to understand relations between inorganic phase preparation method and final structure of the hybrid organic-inorganic networks. Combined effect of inorganic domains prepared by in-situ sol-gel process and nano- or micro-silica fillers on material properties will be studied as well. Multidisciplinary topic of the work will involve synthesis of the inorganic precursors, preparation of the hybrid crosslinked materials and their structure (SAXS, NMR, electron microscopy, FTIR) and thermomechanical (DSC, TGA, DMTA, tensile tests, micro-hardness, etc.) characterization.
