SYNTHESES OF SPECIAL MONOMERS FOR p-CONJUGATED POLYMERS

Syntheses of tailored p-conjugated polymers for utilization in photovoltaic or electroluminescent devices are performed by means of Suzuki coupling reaction. Here we have synthesized functionalized dibromoderivatives of aryls or aromatic heterocycles, which would be possible further modified with an active structure. Thus we prepared reactive derivatives of 2,5-dibromo-4-methylbenzoic, 2,5-dibromoterephthalic or 2,5-dibrombenzenesulfonic acids, the 3,8-dibromo-1,10-phenanthroline, the 2,5-dibromo-3-[2-(pyren-1-yl)vinyl]thiophene (IV), the 9-substituted 2,7-dibromocarbazole etc. For instance the synthesis of IV was accomplished as:
