Our group operates several advanced experimental techniques for polymer characterization and investigation of their physical and physico-chemical properties:


  • 7 commercial (ALV, Malvern) and home-built static and dynamic light scattering instruments that besides routine mesurements offer several advanced features:
  • measurement in an extremely broad temperature range from -130 to 400 oC
  • measurement in infrared region (980 nm) for systems absorbing light in the visible range
  • measurement in electric field for determination of electrophoretic mobility and zeta potential (colloid stability) of nanoparticles
  • measurement of light scattering under ionizing radiation


  • particle tracking microscope (Nanosight) providing the number density and distribution of nanoparticles in solution
  • Electron paramagnetic resonance instrument (Bruker) including imigaing technique ESRI
  • advanced SAXS/WAXS instrument (Molmet) with a Osmic microfocus source
  • Isothermal titration calorimetry


     Fully equipped licensed radionuclide laboratory for synthesis of radiopolymers and their characterisation:

  • Dionex - HPLC system with radioactivity detector Berthold FlowStar
  • Dionex - GPC system with radioactivity detector Berthold FlowStar
  • Typhoon – 2D autoradiography scanner
  • Veenstra VDC - radiometer
  • LTi nPhD - NaI(Tl) γ spectrometer
  • Liquid scintillation counter for α/β radiation
  • MicroBeta - scintillation counter (for incorporation analysis of 3H-thymidine)
  • MicroCont II – contamination monitor
