Biological laboratories ( rooms 806, 807 and part of rooms  814 a  816) are fully equiped for the study of " biological characteristics of biomaterials, which are intended mainly for tissue engineering, reparative medicine or as polymer backbone of therapeutic of diagnostic compound. 

The available eguipments:

1. Plate-reader Biotek H1 –   hybrid spectrophotometric system.

2. StepOnePlus™ Real-Time PCR System –  the machine  allows evaluation of gene expresion .

3. Veriti® Thermal Cycler -   machine for amplification DNA - PCR.

4. Innova® 42R – shaker for aerobic cultivation of bacterial or yeast cultures. 

5. Biological Safety Cabinets -  Biohazard II. class MSC Advantage (120cm – 2x, 150cm -  1x)

6. CO2 incubator Thermo Forma Direct Heat  – device allows cultivation of  eucaryotic cell cultures.

7. Heraeus Multifuge X1R- refrigerated centrifuge.

8. CASY TT – device deigned to determine cell numbers and cell viability.

9. MicroBeta2 Plate counter – device designed for radiometric and luminescence applications.

9. Laser Scanning Confocal Microscope with module for Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy and Time resolved Fluorescent Microscopy – device allows observation in the light field, observation of fluorescence, Nomarski DIC (differential interference contrast) microscopy, laser scanning confocal microscopy (LSCM), fluorescence correlation and cross-correlation spectroscopy, a method in which a sample is irradiated with very short laser pulses, the signals are detected by detectors with high temporal resolution - time-resolved fluorescence confocal microscopy (FLIM), time-resolved fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FLCS)

10. Flow Cytometer BD FACSVerse – digital flow cytometer with three lasers (405nm, 488nm and 640nm) and 10 detectors. The device offers high sensitivity of fluorescence detection, is equipped with software for data collection and analysis.

11.Light Microscope - Optika – Light Trinocular inverted phase contrast microscope.

12. Fluorescent Microscope - Optika – inverted epi-fluorescence microscope. The microscope is equipped with a filter blocks excitation in the blue and green light.

13. Elekroforetic systems for agarose and SDS-PAGE gels or immunobloting are used for detection and analysis of DNA / RNA or protein

Furthermore, the laboratories are  equipped with smaller commonly used devices: desktop centrifuge, vortex, pipettes, PH meter, scales
