| Topic | Structural analysis of bio-macromolecules applicable in fight against cancer. |
| Annotation | Nucleases are small enzymes degrading nucleic acids critical for cell life. Currently novel plant nucleases are studied with weaker side effects when applied to living organisms. These molecules have significantly different architecture and properties in comparison with standard nucleases and ribonucleases commonly applied in this field and therefore a thorough study of their structure and function is required. The project involves protein characterisation, modification and crystallisation, X-ray diffraction experiments, data collection and synchrotron radiation sources, structure solution and refinement, structure interpretation, mutation design, computational analysis. |
