| Topic | Biocompatible polymeric nanoassemblies for biomedical purposes |
| Annotation | Polymeric nanoparticles and supramolecular architectures have a wide range of applications in many areas of nanotechnology. Functional nanocarriers for use in medicine and biology are very promising and they can serve as targeted assemblies with bioactive substances, radionuclide labels or other functional components. In this project we shall focus on the preparation and physicochemical characterisation of polymeric nanoassemblies formed by different methods using synthesized precursors and their mutual interactions or specific interactions with metals, surface active materials (surfactants and block copolymers) etc. The nanoparticle properties will be studied by scattering of light and X-rays, nanoparticle tracking analysis, electrophoretic light scattering and electron microscopy. Interactions with physiological media (e.g.; proteins from human blood) will be tested. |
